See, one of the most important gain of reading the shastras is that you will understand what are important things and what is the noise?
The Puranas are written by the saints and there are questions asked by the sadhak(seekers).
Seekers are people who inquire about the right things or concerns of life, where seekers need to focus on. Even you can be called a seeker because you are finding the answers of your life.
The Puranas are conversations between the seekers and the saints. And the saints talk about what are the benefits of reading the shastras. The shastras make you pure, they give you blessings, they speak about the short stories which have lessons. And you have to respect these stories and the Gods in these stories.
See, if you follow all these lessons , you will become blessed with this gyan. The stories are written for a reason, it is meant to make you aware about important concerns of life.
The Puranas are written for the Kaliyuga era. They talk about the do's and don'ts of a spiritual life. We have to respect the shastras and follow them on a day to day basis.
Once you follow the shastras daily, elderly people will recognize that you are a Religious person, you are worthy of respect, you are heading to the right destination and are on the right path.
And if young people come under your influence, you've don't a lot for them already.
So if life is going to get sorted out after reading the shastras, why shouldn't we read shastras? No. Start reading them.
People will accept and respect you once you know what are the right concerns about life and how it will make you a respectable human being.
You will become invincible, flawless, unavoidable, you will become a blessed person with this gyan.
Now, the Puranas are a lot to read, around 18 puranas, but once you become determined to Read and complete them at the earliest date possible, your life will get sorted out and you will be blessed with the faith of God. Oh and you will attain artha, dharam, kaam and moksha.
Once you know this gyan, you will know what's important and what is your duty, even if you don't achieve your results, you are aware about what's important and crucial for your life.
Once you remain focused with what's important for you, then you will persevere and stand tall in challenges and endeavours.
You will become a first-class devotee, and you will earn your respect, because your life's challenges are sure to be conquered over.
You will know what's right for your life and you will build the right perspective.
Once you respect the shastras written by the saints, you will become respect worthy, and will definitely achieve results. And if you don't get results then you are on the right track with the right gyan.
Whilst you live your life daily with this gyan, you will not become low, because the gyan says don't grief, don't sorrow, don't sulk with the events of life, and move ahead with your chin up.
So once you read the shastras, you will learn to respect the shastras and the saints who wrote them.
When you become a first-class devotee, you will know what's right and wrong and will definitely become worthy of respect, and others will recognize you for whoever you are.
