What is the greatest gain of reading the shastras?
How to achieve artha, dharam, moksha?
You will get moksha by becoming a strong believer in God.
You can read the shastras, you can read the gyan in them and become a Religious person.
There is no emotion other than being in Krishna Consciousness and contemplating about God. You will feel calm, peaceful and be in high spirits.
When you get rid of the negative emotions on a daily basis, you will know that how the saints and the first-class devotees live their lives.
Gita will change you just after completing it in less than a week and you will feel that God is with you and his vani will enlighten you to ecstasy.
If Gita can change such drastic change in your life then how much other shastras can impact you and others around you.
If the shastras can help you conquer all the good qualities and become a spiritual person what other greater gyan can there be in life.
Bhagavatam is also a good read and will change you from the inside and move towards the outside.
Okay, if I have read so many shastras and change then why can't anyone else.
See, what is the best thing that can happen if you stay happy and in high spirits daily.
No anger, hatred, jealously, doubts, violence, all bad qualities disappearing from your life daily.
If you remain in Krishna Consciousness even for a year at a stretch then you will remember the year and continue being like this for every year.
If you just listen to a Bhajan how much relaxation can it give you. Or a kirtan or chanting.
High spirits, no bad qualities, chanting, calm and peaceful, if every day if you stay like this, How joyful and harmonious can it get?
So read the shastras, the joy and peace that it will bring you, it must be experienced and spread to others.
That's all
Goodbye and God Bless!
